Description

Explore the best of India and its culture through its food in this exciting evening food tour of Old and New Delhi! Starting at 3:00 in the day, the tour will begin with your guide picking you up from the meeting point in Connaught place. Take the swanky metro (subway) and then a fun rickshaw ride to reach your first destination, Kamla Nagar (one of the most popular markets of Delhi). Give your taste-buds a kick-start with local cuisines like Shwarma (minced meat roll served with tangy dip), Momo (local dim sum, one of the most popular street foods), Bread pakora (deep-fried bread stuffed with potatoes and onions, served with sweet and sour dips, Bhelpuri, the quintessential street food (rice puffs served with fresh onions, tomatoes, chilies, and some really tangy sauces!) and a cool Gola (a colorful sweet ice slush).

After filling up your bellies with all these delicious food items and exploring the local market, make your way back to the metro and head to Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi. Walkthrough the crazy by-lanes of Old Delhi and make your first stop at a century-old eatery for Jalebis (a Deep-fried dish made of cornflour, dipped in sugar syrup) and Samosa ( triangular deep-fried bread stuffed with potatoes, onions, and peas.

Post this, walk towards the Gurudwara (Sikh temple) where you will get a chance to learn the beautiful culture of Sikhism and witness their selfless service in their big community kitchens! After this spiritual visit, move ahead to try some Aaloo Tikki (round deep-fried cakes made of lentils and potatoes served with a tangy sauce of tamarind and mint and ginger slices).

Follow your guide and hop on a rickshaw ride to the spice market and learn more about the history of this amazing place. Finish your tour with the famous Lassi (a sweet yogurt drink to balance out that deep-fried food!) and Faluda (rice noodles), post which you’ll be dropped off at the metro station.
